Songs about Lions, and Tigers, and Bears- Animal Week!

Dear GE Families,

The students will have their monthly chapel time on Monday & Tuesday of this week.  During chapel, I will be singing songs with them about giving thanks.

On Wednesday & Thursday of this week we will be singing and moving to silly songs about animals, including the Chicken Dance (my favorite!).

In addition to the songs for the week, I have also included below some photos from Halloween week for you to enjoy.  Winnie the Pooh (dressed as a witch) visited our music class for Halloween so I had the kids pose with Pooh Bear for fun :)

Our Songs This Week:

“Old MacDonald Had a Farm”
Old MACDONALD had a farm
E-I-E-I-O
And on his farm he had a cow
E-I-E-I-O
With a moo moo here
And a moo moo there
Here a moo, there a moo
Everywhere a moo moo
Old MacDonald had a farm
E-I-E-I-O

And on his farm he had a pig…
And on his farm he had a duck…
And on his farm he had a horse…
And on his farm he had a lamb…
And on his farm he had some chickens…
E-I-E-I-O
With a cluck cluck here…
With a baa baa here…
With a neigh neigh here…
With a quack quack here…
With a oink oink here…
With a moo moo here…

Old MacDonald had a farm
E-I-E-I-OOOOOOO.........

“O-r-a-n-g-e”
(Tune: Ten Little Indians)
O-r-a-n-g-e
, O-r-a-n-g-e
, O-r-a-n-g-e

Orange is what that spells.

Jack-o-lanterns are always orange.

Carrots are always orange.

Oranges are always orange.

O-r-a-n-g-e

“A Word Guessing Game”
(Tune: Happy Birthday to You)

I found something today,
It starts with the letter A,
It’s red and it’s crunchy,
Make a guess to play! (Apple)

It’s a little marching insect… (Ant)
It’s a reptile from the swamp… (Alligator)
It’s the sound of a sneeze… (Achoo!)
It points straight from a bow… (Arrow)
It’s a nut on a tree… (Acorn)
It’s a big hairy monkey… (Ape)
It can cut down a tree… (Axe)
It stops a boat from moving… (Anchor)
It’s attached to your hand… (Arm)

“This is an Oval”
(Tune: Are You Sleeping?)

This is an oval, this is an oval.
How can you tell? How can you tell?
It's big on one end
And smaller on the other.
It's an oval, it's an oval.

“WAVE YOUR OVAL IN THE AIR”
(
Tune: If You’re Happy and You Know It)

Wave your oval in the air, in the air.
Wave your oval in the air, in the air.
Wave your oval in the air,
Then wave it here and wave it there.
Wave your oval in the air, in the air.

Wave your oval at your toe, at your toe…
Wave your oval at your nose, at your nose…
Wave your oval at your knee, at your knee…
Wave your oval at your ear, at your ear…

“Five Little Monkeys”
Five little monkeys jumping on the bed,
One fell off
And bumped his head,
Mama called the doctor and the doctor said,
“No more monkeys jumping on the bed!”
Four…Three…Two…One.

“The Ants Go Marching”
The ants go marching one by one, hurrah, hurrah
The ants go marching one by one, hurrah, hurrah
The ants go marching one by one,
The little one stops to suck her thumb
And they all go marching down to the ground
To get out of the rain, BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

…The ants go marching two by two,
The little one stops to tie her shoe…

…The ants go marching three by three,
The little one stops to climb a tree…

…The ants go marching four by four,
The little one stops to shut the door…

…The ants go marching five by five,
The little one stops to take a dive…

…The ants go marching six by six,
The little one stops to pick up sticks…

…The ants go marching seven by seven,
The little one stops to pray to heaven…

…The ants go marching eight by eight,
The little one stops to shut the gate…

…The ants go marching nine by nine,
The little one stops to check the time…

…The ants go marching ten by ten,
The little one stops to sing it again…

“Ladybug Picnic”

One, two, three
Four, five, six
Seven, eight, nine
Ten, eleven, twelve
Ladybugs
Came to the ladybugs' picnic
One, two, three
Four, five, six
Seven, eight, nine
Ten, eleven, twelve
And they all played games
At the ladybugs' picnic
They had twelve sacks, so they ran sack races
They fell on their backs, and they fell on their faces
The ladybugs twelve
At the ladybugs' picnic
They played jump rope, but the rope - it broke
So they just sat around telling knock-knock jokes
The ladybugs twelve
At the ladybugs' picnic
One, two, three
Four, five, six
Seven, eight, nine
Ten, eleven, twelve
And they chatted away
At the ladybugs' picnic
They talked about the high price of furniture and rugs
And fire insurance for ladybugs
The ladybugs twelve
At the ladybugs' picnic
Twelve!

“Tiny Tim”
I had a little turtle (Cup hands together.)
His name was Tiny Tim.
I put him in the bathtub (Put hands down on floor.)
To see if he could swim. (Pretend to swim.)
He drank up all the water. (Pretend to drink.)
He ate up all the soap. (Pretend to gobble soap.)
And now he's sick in bed (Lay head on hands.)
With bubbles in his throat. (Vibrate lips together.)
Bubble, bubble, bubble,

Bubble, bubble, POP!
